Mr. David Smith on www.LogiaConsulting.ca is back laughing with Collin and Kavis for a 2 part series. They have a deep discussion on the neuroscience behind the book “Positive Intelligence” by Shirzad Chamine www.positiveintelligence.com , it’s application in mental fitness, battling leadership fatigue and improving leadership performance. Positive intelligence quotient (PQ) may be as, if not more important than EQ. Techniques David will talk about run parallel to techniques and practices, the world’s highest performers in sports, business, art and music use but brought to a methodology each of us can benefit from as leaders. Oh, ya. Somehow, Kavis looses his car. (from Oct 28-22)

The Fatigued Leader (Part 2) - My arm is sore, and WHERE is the porta-potty?
Monday Oct 10, 2022
Monday Oct 10, 2022
Part 2 of Collin and Kavis continuing their talk on the fatigued leader, turning is On and OFF, and learning to take care of oneself before the fatigue sets in. This is something that literally "takes a village" to make work. Lots of reflection on the last couple of years as they reference article "The Boss is Not Okay" from www.ICD.ca Directors Journal Sept/Oct 2022

Greatness From Imperfection - (you came for a prostate exam, right?)
Saturday Sep 24, 2022
Saturday Sep 24, 2022
Ok. Our imperfections can often discourage and dissuade someone from even thinking about being a leader. When you become a leader, you are automatically in the gauntlet of critics who can often expect more than you can give (or at least it can feel that way).
While Kavis does laugh at Collin because of his last doctor's appointment, he also takes the pair into a very serious topic of being ok with our failures because "FAILURE IS PART OF THE PROCESS". They make references to Angela Duckworth's book GRIT, Strengthfinders 2.0 by Tom Rath, Steve Munby's Book "Imperfect Leadership and other great speakers such as Pamela Wallin. Kavis and Collin have a vulnerable conversation that new and emerging leaders need to hear.

Kavis and Collin go into the first part of a series that explores the negative effects of fatigued leader, recognizing the signs, and what the heck to we do?? They also discuss the perils of getting older, getting your teeth fixed and being told you are temporarily living in "Senior's Home"!
Taken from When Executives Burn Out (hbr.org) “Those who study cases like these agree that a special phenomenon occurs after people expend a great deal of effort, intense to the point of exhaustion, without visible results. People in these situations feel angry, helpless, trapped, and depleted: they are burned out. This experience is more intense than what is ordinarily referred to as stress. “

Mama’s Car, Man You’re Hot, What Leaders Should Focus On
Saturday Aug 13, 2022
Saturday Aug 13, 2022
Again, another Collin and Kavis unscripted dialogue about "what leaders should be focused on". Yes, we talk about Kavis' Mama's car and being "hot" after a vax shot. Funny but meaningful discussions on the things leaders should focus on.

Nadene Joy - Leadership, Authentic and Real
Saturday Aug 13, 2022
Saturday Aug 13, 2022
People want and respond to leaders that are authentic and real. An over scripted leader can be seen as evasive and hiding something. At the same time, being authentic means being vulnerable and in a world where we have a whole generation that is always watched (camera phones/social media) every mistake is forever recorded. So is it worth it? Collin takes a time out with Nadene Joy - executive leadership strategist, advisor and global 'Mindset and Wellness Expert', CEO & Founder of The Global Lead 2 Impact Summit. She has been featured in media outlets including USA Today, CBC, CBS, Fox, ABC, i Heart Radio, The Globe and Mail and NBC. Nadene is the author of "Uncover Your Purpose: Heal and Share Your Gifts With the World" and "Love is...A Guide to the Power of Love". She is also co-author of "Cracking The Rich Code Vol 4" with Kevin Harrington of the TV show "Shark Tank" and business icon, Jim Britt. www.nadenejoy.com
